Dr. Angela Smith is a Licensed Psychologist in Texas with licensure to practice telehealth in 33 states. She graduated from the University of Houston with a PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2015 and completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Michael E. DeBakey Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Smith's clinical expertise is derived from years of specialized training in treating anxiety-based disorders, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Dr. Smith worked as a staff psychologist at the McLean OCD Institute Houston (formerly, Houston OCD Program) for four years before founding Anxiety Specialists of Houston in 2020.
Dr. Smith is an adjunct professor of Psychology in the master's program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she has taught courses on personality assessment, group psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She regularly contributes to the annual conferences for several national and international organizations including the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) and the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation (IOCDF) and has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals including Depression and Anxiety, Journal of Obsessive Compulsive and Related Disorders, Behavior Therapy, Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science, and Journal of Clinical Psychology.

Individual therapy sessions may be conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing on your computer, tablet, or phone. You can connect from any location in Texas that is convenient for you, and you’ll save time and money that would otherwise be spent traveling.

Initial Phone Consultation
No charge for 10-minute initial consultation
$300 per 80-minute session
$220 per 55-minute session
$200 per 45-minute session
$40 per each 10-minutes
I am not an in-network provider for any health insurance companies including Medicaid. I will be happy to provide you with a Superbill, which can be used to file an "out-of-network" provider claim. If you plan to pursue this option, please check with your insurance company to ensure they reimburse for out-of-network providers.
Payment is required in advance for all sessions.
Cash, check, and all major credit cards and some HSA/Flexible Spending cards accepted.
24-hours notice for cancellation is required to avoid being charged for the full cost of the session. Exceptions will be made for infrequent, uncontrollable circumstances (i.e. severe inclement weather, school closures, and emergencies).
